Did you know we’re more than just a gym?

Did You Know?

Did you know that at Tradewinds we offer so much more than just group fitness coaching and semi-private fitness training?

We believe that the path to health requires positive habits happening both inside and outside of our space. We do our best to provide as many tools and resources as we can to help educate and support our clients in various ways.

In addition to fitness we also provide a habits based nutrition coaching program, we are a supplement affiliate and we carry recovery refreshments.

We’ve created a list of additional services and products that are available at Tradewinds. Additionally, at the end of this post we’ve included a price list for in-stock items, how to order additional items if needed, and a short list of our top supplement recommendations & why.

1-on-1 nutrition coaching – this is a lifestyle habits based coaching program designed to meet you with where you are at, access your goals and provide tools, resources and accountability to create lasting and meaningful change in your life. Typically we suggest clients utilize this service for a minimum of 3 months but see the best long-term lasting results for clients who are consistent for 6+ months. Every program is different because it is based on your individualized goals and health needs.

Reach out to us directly to schedule a 1-on-1 to talk about how this program can support you.

1-on-1 private/semi-private coaching – Recovering from an injury? Training for a special event? Or looking to focus on a particular area of wellness or skill? 1-on-1 private coaching (or semi-private if there are more than 1) is available to any of our clients for short-term or long-term needs.

This could be in addition to our group classes or in place of group coaching. You will work directly with a coach who will develop a specialized plan to meet your specific goals and needs.

Protein Supplements – Protein is a fundamental cornerstone to health that often gets severely overlooked in the health industry. Individuals should be consuming at minimum .8-1g of protein per pound of ideal body weight per day. That’s roughly 30-50g of protein per meal (which sounds like a lot if you’re not already doing this, however in our nutrition coaching program we can show you how). Ideally the majority of your protein should come from real sources such as lean meats, fish, vegetables and nuts/seads, however, sometimes we need a little extra convenience to get the last bit in during our busy days.

At Tradewinds we are an Ascent supplement affiliate. Ascent is a trusted high quality protein brand with no artificial flavors or sweeteners. We recommend our clients incorporate a protein shake within 30 mins – 1 hour after exercising for recovery and best results.

Ascent Protein is available to purchase in-person at Tradewinds or through our monthly supplement order.

Creatine Supplement – Creatine is a naturally occurring compound found in small amounts in certain foods and synthesized by the body. Taking creatine as a supplement has been studied extensively, and it is known to provide several health benefits. Here are some of the key benefits of adding a creatine supplement into your diet: improved exercise performance, increased ability to maintain and build healthy skeletal muscle mass, enhanced strength and power output, neurological benefits, cellular energy production, and recovery & injury prevention.

We recommend adding a 5g scoop of creatine to your post-workout recovery shake and take it daily for best results.

Ascent Creatine is available to purchase directly at Tradewinds or through our monthly supplement order.

You can also purchase creatine directly through our other supplement provider, Thorne, here.

Electrolyte Supplement – Coach Andy recently wrote a blog about the importance of hydration in our health, and the role salt plays in that balance. Because it is such an important tool to optimize our health we now carry the electrolyte supplement LMNT. These individual serving packets contain  ¼ of the science backed daily recommendation. They come in a variety of flavors including: citrus, orange, grapefruit. Watermelon, raspberry, mango chili, and raw unflavored.

In case you missed it, you can check out Coach Andy’s blog on hydration here

LMNT is available to purchase in-person at Tradewinds or through our monthly supplement order.

Micronutrient Supplements – There are a lot of other important supplements available to help optimize your health and overall well being. However, the quality of some supplements can be questionable. We work directly with Thorne for almost all of our micronutrient supplement needs. Thorne is a trusted brand in the health space and has a fantastic range of nearly 200 supplements and bundles available for many varying health needs. Additionally, they are third party tested. With Thorne you can rest assured knowing that you are getting the absolute best quality in the supplement you are taking.

All Thorne supplements are available to purchase through our monthly supplement order or directly through our affiliate link here

Recovery Beverages – Sometimes you need a little extra energy before a workout or a little extra support after a workout to help with recovery. We offer a select line of Lifeaid products and Propel water to help with just that. Check out our stock available in our desk mini fridge.

Beverages are available to purchase in-person at Tradewinds or through our monthly supplement order.

Creatine, an amino acid – promotes and supports lean muscle mass, enhanced muscle performance, endurance, cellular energy production, and cognitive/brain function. While it can be found in some food sources, more often than not, most individuals are not consuming enough of it to support their overall health.

Whey Protein – Most adults on the Standard American Diet are not consuming nearly enough protein. After the age of 30 our body starts to break down muscle. In order to maintain muscle, let alone rebuild new muscle, we need to consume enough protein. Many of our bodies’ systems require adequate protein to help function optimally. Adding in a high quality whey protein supplement can help bridge the gap in our protein needs.

Vitamin D – VD is an essential micronutrient that our bodies need to build and maintain healthy bones. It also regulates many other functions in our body. It is an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and also supports immune health, muscle function and brain cell activity. However, it is not naturally found in many foods and our main source comes from unscreened sun exposure. So many people are often not making or consuming an optimal amount of of vitamin D to support all of the systems the nutrient helps to regulate.  A high quality vitamin D supplement can help support bones, teeth, muscles, joints, cardiovascular health and immune function
