AOM February 2025

Team TW would love to congratulate Rhaine Sziy for being chosen as our February 2025 Athlete of the Month! Way to go Rhaine!

Rhaine has been one of the most consistent athletes in the gym for over a year now. We see his name on top of the athlete attendance leaderboard time and time again. This is just a small testament to his ability to show up for himself, whether it is coming off of a long shift or just running on little sleep, Rhaine prioritizes taking care of his fitness in a way we really admire. Not to mention he goes beast mode in the gym! The guy can seriously lift and has pushed himself to build tremendous strength in his time here at TW. Not to mention he is always looking out for his teammates in class, giving them a little boost or just commiserating in the shared hardships we go through, Rhaine is a great person to workout alongside. We appreciate you Rhaine and we look forward to cheering you on for many more good times to come!

TW: Where are you from?

Rhaine: A small town in Pennsylvania called Catasauqua

TW:  What do you do for work?

Rhaine: I work as a simulation engineer for Boston Children’s Hospital for the department of Immersive Design Systems.

TW:  How long have you been at Tradewinds?

Rhaine: Just over a year and a half

TW: What motivated you to try Tradewinds?

Rhaine: I am a huge routine guy and was slacking at working out. When my fiancée and I moved to Winthrop I noticed the gym and once settled into the time. Between how close it is to our house and the workout structure it was a no brainer for me. Makes it really easy to get a good workout with my work schedule.

TW: What group class do you usually attend?

Rhaine: 4-5 a week if work allows it, 5:30am, 7am, 5pm

TW: Did you have a fitness background prior to starting at Tradewinds?

Rhaine: I was a collegiate athlete before multiple surgeries ended my career, so I was working out and coaching year-round consistently.

TW:  If you could program your dream WOD, what would it be?

Rhaine: NO TABATA PLEASE! But dream WOD would be a lifting E2MOM to start for sure then closing it out with some core work.

TW: What is your proudest accomplishment since joining Tradewinds?

Rhaine: Completing the Murph after getting back from vacation at 2am the day of.

TW: How has Tradewinds helped you in your everyday life?

Rhaine: TW has helped me bring structure back into my everyday life, which makes me a very very happy person. Being able to get a workout in before or after work helps me either take on the workday or unwind after a long one.

TW:  What do you like to do outside the gym?

Rhaine: I am a huge cooking fiend so I am constantly trying out recipes, reading at least 1-2 books, and hanging out with my dogs Charlie and Tucker. Oh and probably traveling to a marathon to watch my fiancée run.

TW: What is your favorite song to workout to?

Rhaine: Man I feel Like a Woman by Shania!!!

TW: What’s one thing you’d tell someone who is curious about trying Tradewinds but not sure if they could do it?

Rhaine: Don’t be afraid and just give it a shot. Tradewinds is a great place and the community will welcome you and support you in whatever way you need.

AOM Closing Thoughts…

Contrary to what people say about my attitude at Tradewinds, I can only say being at Tradewinds has been nothing short of amazing. It was exactly what I needed in order to get my fitness and health back on track. It provides me with consistency in a both challenging and great workout on a daily basis. The bonus for me that I never expected was the community though, walking into the gym and being able to make friends and have conversations makes working out fun. Whether its fellow athletes or the coach’s conversations are fun and everyone has the same mindset coming in to get a good workout in as well. It is always a highlight of my day whenever I attend a class at Tradewinds.
