The Open has Arrived!

It's March and that means The Open is under way and you're crushing the workouts! 18.1 has already happened and Dave Castro hit us with a killer 20-minute AMRAP featuring a movement never before seen in the Open - dumbbell clean and jerks! How are those shoulders feeling, everyone? How did you do?

And let's not forget, with the arrival of the Open, the Tradewinds Open Team challenge has begun! The captains carefully hand-selected their teams... and the friendly trash-talking began right from the jump! The social media surrounding Tradewinds is always fun, but the posts that have been flying since the Open started have been on a whole other level! 

But we're just scratching the surface, folks! There are still 4 WODs to go! Be sure to stay tuned to our Facebook page to see live feed of our Thursday Night Throwdown every week immediately following the announcement of each Open workout around 8pm. You're going to want to check out Coach Andy's "Coach's Corner" video blogs every Friday, where he'll be dispensing handy tips on how to tackle each workout. And then, Friday Night Lights - where our teams go head-to-head in hopes of gaining all the glory (and bragging rights)! Show up in person or check out our live feeds!    Athlete of the Month   

March's Athlete of the Month is Nate O!
Nate, our resident Canadian, is one of our #morningmayhem athletes, and his friendship with the rest of the "morning bromance" is a prime example of the camaraderie that comes naturally among CrossFit athletes in general, and Tradewinds athletes in particular. Nate: Toronto, Canada. 

CFT: How long have you been doing CrossFit?
Nate:  I started CrossFit in April of 2017, so around 10 months.

CFT: Did you have a fitness background prior to starting CrossFit?

Join us every Thursday and Friday for the next 4 weeks as 5 teams of 5 athletes take on the Tradewinds Open Team Challenge and the weekly CrossFit Open workout.

Friday Night Lights | 6pm

Every Friday the remaining athletes who are participating in the Tradewinds Open Team Challenge will complete the weekly CrossFit Open workout in scheduled heats. Come cheer on your friends and fellow athletes in what is sure to be a weekly event full of fun & excitement.

Mobility & Stretching Workshop

Saturday, April 7 | 11:00am

Cool down, stretch out, and recovery from the Open. 

  • dynamic warm-ups to get you ready to perform at your best
  • stretching & mobility tools for recover
  • preventative stretching & mobility  
  • learn how to use all the mobility tools around the gym 

Program Details

  • $30 per person
  • limited spots available

Mid-April to Mid-May 2018 | 1 day a week | 2 Hours

Tradewinds Barbell Club is a 4-week specialty program focused on barbell movements, specifically the Olympic lifts, taught by Tradewinds Head Coach, Andy Boimila. .

Program Details

  • $175 for Tradewinds monthly athletes
  • $225 for non-monthly athletes
  • 10 available spots
  • 4 sessions
  • 2 hours per session

*At least 5 athletes are required for this program to happen.

Tuesdays, March 13 to April 17 | 4:00-4:45pm

Registration is open for the March & April 2018 Tradewinds Kids CrossFit program.

The program is designed to help introduce kids to (fun) fitness and build on skills from the previous kids program. The program has 3 key principles and an overall goal.

Program Details

  • Kids 7-13 years old
  • 10 Spots Available
  • 6 Sessions
  • Tuesdays - 4:00pm to 4:45pm
  • March 13 to April 17

Cost: $100 per kid | Limited to 10 spots!

*If there is enough interest for a 4-6 years old age group we may also open up another session.
