There’s a mindset that I think a lot of people in the gym take that could be powerful to talk about today. We have a lot of people with this “Never miss a Monday” mentality.
I love this concept. To me, never miss a Monday means starting each week with a clean slate. It means giving yourself the opportunity to get off on the right foot and set your week up for success. It means challenging yourself to create a consistent system of accountability. When we set the standard for ourselves to work at this caliber we accept the fact that we can strive to be the best that we can be.
Hitting the snooze button on a Monday morning or calling it quits at the end of the workday and just staying home are the easy choices. Those are the ones that are subconscious us to make we want to do what’s easy. Change your distractions into sidebars, your excuses into afterthoughts. We have to challenge ourselves to do what’s outside of our comfort zone.
Now, is it possible to never miss a Monday? Probably not your whole life. But is it a good mentality to take? Definitely. It’s a promise that you make to yourself to always start strong and make the time to take care of yourself in the way that you deserve best. When we set the standard for ourselves to work at this caliber we accept the fact that we can strive to be the best that we can be, and then we simply make it happen.
As we head into this next season of the year and of life, excuses and distractions will be high. It’s back to school, it’s the change of seasons and start of fresh prospects. You have the choice to make right now. Will you put your foot down and set the standard today, or will you let the excuses and doubts rule you?
So I challenge you to challenge yourselves, from now on, let’s not miss Mondays. Let’s destroy that snooze button. Let’s power through that after work slump. Let’s kick Mondays butt to the point where it’s not even a challenge to never miss a Monday, but rather a nonnegotiable.
