Too often we hear (or tell ourselves) “I’m waiting for the right time to” or you name it.
The truth is, there will never be the right time. And that’s because our time will belong to whatever it is we choose to prioritize it for.
We’ll never get more time and most likely there will never be the “perfect” time to start something so the right answer is to just start now.
This is your sign to take some action. Whatever you have been putting off, it’s time to get started.
You don’t have to dive in 1000%. And actually, sometimes overcommitting right away often leads to an early burnout. So instead, just start by taking one small step today.
Maybe that’s 5 mins of action. Maybe its 30 seconds. But the best way to create the motivation you think you need to get started is to just start.
We don’t start because we are motivated.
Action creates motivation.
So, if you’ve been wanting to improve your nutrition, maybe your action is to plan out 1 or 2 nutritious meals for next week. Write out your grocery list. And then schedule the days you plan to cook those meals. Fast forward to enjoying those meals how awesome you feel, which motivates you to try 3 meals.
Maybe you want to start exercising but you don’t know where to start. Your action could be to reach out to your local fitness studio to schedule a consultation with a professional who can help you get started. Fast forward to that consultation where you feel heard and understood, and a plan has been created to get you started. Now you feel motivated and excited to start exercising.
Taking action doesn’t have to be hard. It should be simple, at least at first.
Fiction creates more fiction, so start super simple. Take any big goal you’re looking at and break it down into the smallest possible steps you can think, and then pick one of those steps to do right now.
And then plan out the next small thing you will do, and then the next, and so on.
