TW is excited to congratulate our November 2025 Athlete of the Month… Meghan Verdaguer!
Meghan has been with us just over a year, but it often feels as though she has always been a part of our community. From the very first day Meghan showed up we saw determination, an incredibly hard work ethic and a kindness that shines daily. She stood out with her ambition and her desire to build a strong routine and challenge herself outside of her comfort zone. Meghan’s quiet work ethic speaks volumes about her, you won’t hear her complain, you’ll simply see her giving her best effort day in and day out. She lifts up others around her and brings an amazing type of energy into our space. We are thankful and lucky to have her represent our community- thanks for being you Meghan!
TW: Where are you from?
Meghan: Born, raised and live here in Winthrop.
TW: What do you do for work?
Meghan: During my working years, I was an HR Manager, but now I’m a full-time parent to my 4 boys while doing my best to keep our home in order.
TW: How long have you been at Tradewinds?
Meghan: Since August 2024.
TW: What motivated you to try Tradewinds?
Meghan: After the novelty of working out at home wore off, I wanted to get back into a functional fitness program to improve my physical health. I responded to one of Mary’s Facebook posts, and once we met, I couldn’t wait to get started.
TW: What group class do you usually attend?
Meghan: 8:15am, weekdays
TW: Did you have a fitness background prior to starting at Tradewinds?
Meghan: I played sports growing up and club sports during college. My husband and I discovered CrossFit in 2005 and did that (on and off) until around 2014. After a lengthy break while having kids, I joined the Peloton trend in 2020 before discovering Tradewinds last year!
TW: If you could program your dream WOD, what would it be?
Meghan: It would mostly be a lifting workout, but include a running buy-in, followed by deadlifts, front squats, and bench press.
TW: What would your dream meal be?
Meghan: My husband’s homemade pizza (specifically his onion pizza), followed by a warm brownie sundae for dessert.
TW: What is your proudest accomplishment since joining Tradewinds?
Meghan: I’m definitely proud of the physical improvements I’ve made, but what I’m most proud of is consistently showing up. Establishing a routine where it feels easy and fun to show up for myself has been truly empowering.
TW: How has Tradewinds helped you in your everyday life?
Meghan: Tradewinds has helped improve my physical and mental health immensely, allowing me to be a better spouse, mom, and overall human. Plus, I can still carry my 7-year-old upstairs to bed when he falls asleep on the couch! I tell him I go to the gym so I can do it forever—and that’s my goal.
TW: What do you like to do outside the gym?
Meghan: I love spending time with my family, the beach, having girls’ nights with friends, listening to audiobooks, and baking. I also love watching my kids and husband play sports, and as a family, we enjoy watching Boston sports together.
TW: What is your favorite song to workout to?
Meghan: Early 2000s hip hop and dance music.
TW: What’s one thing you’d tell someone who is curious about trying Tradewinds but not sure if they could do it?
Meghan: Everyone can do it—just give it a try! Tradewinds takes functional fitness seriously, while creating an environment that supports all levels. The coaches truly care about helping clients improve their whole selves, promoting health and strength for everyday life. There’s no intimidation here—the only competition is with yourself, if you choose it.
AOM Closing Thoughts…
My experience as a Tradewinds athlete has been exactly what I needed. It’s given me a space to grow, challenge myself, and connect with some truly wonderful people. I’m so grateful to the coaches for their teaching, patience, support, and genuine care about my progress and commitment. It has made a world of difference for me.
