Fitness and Fun for Kids

Did you know that CrossFit Tradewinds has a kids program?

 

CrossFit Tradewinds is currently offering two kids programs. One for ages 4 to 6 years old (Pre-K), and another for kids ages 7 to 12 years old (kids). These programs run once a week in a small group setting led by a coach with an emphasis on having fun. We also offer one-on-one training for older kids and teenagers. The overall goal of our kids programs are to create a positive association with wellness while exercising, building confidence, and having fun. 

The Overall Goals of our programs are to:

  • Provide a board and inclusive environment to empower all kids
  • Get kids up and moving
  • Create a positive and fun association with fitness

The Programs Emphasize will be on good movement throughout childhood and adolescence. Consistently good mechanics translates to:

  • physical literacy 
  • enhanced sports performance 
  • fewer sports related injuries 
  • improved cognitive function
  • more fun

Fun means we provide an active alternative to sedentary pursuits, which means less childhood obesity and all-around better health for our children. 

Here is a sample of what one of our typical kids classes includes:

  • Introduction discussion – various topics including name introductions, goal setting, and bright spot recognition
  • Warm-up/Stretching
  • Skill work session
  • Kids workout
  • Game

Currently our Pre-K group runs on Tuesdays from 3:15pm to 3:45pm, and the Kids group runs on Tuesdays from 4:15pm to 5:00pm. Interested in learning more about our kids programs or about signing up?
