Celebrate Black History Month at Tradewinds and Beyond

We at Tradewinds strive to create an inclusive community. A place where anyone who walks through our doors can feel welcomed, supported and safe. The heart of our mission is to help our athletes be the heroes of their own stories, and we believe that means each of our athletes deserves to feel empowered enough to do so. We also believe it is our responsibility to do more and be more, and sometimes that means taking action outside of our four walls.
Our core values include:
Ambition, meaning everyone should have the chance to be better and take action.
Integrity, meaning everyone should have the chance to pursue what is right.
Teamwork, meaning anything we could do alone, we can do better together.
This month, in honor of BHM, we ask you to join us in celebration for the progress that has been made in racial justice, to recognize that there is still a lot of work to do, and to take action to do and be more towards continued progress and growth.
Black History Month is a chance to acknowledge black history not only in the month of February, but the important role it has played throughout all of history. Not only is this a time to celebrate, it’s also an opportunity to open the door to educate, create awareness and to take action.
We as a community want to celebrate the history of all people and all athletes, and to show not only where we have come from but where we can go, together.
We understand that sometimes it can feel hard to know where to start when the task is so big. So we want to help. In addition to bringing awareness to BHM, we would also like to provide resources on how to take action this month and beyond.
We are not Tradewinds, without the people that make up our amazing community, and we wouldn’t be upholding our values without celebrating the history of everyone that is a part of us and our country.
